Fright Friday: Halloween Week on Fun Friday

Fun Friday · October 2026 · 4 min read

Halloween packs for five games, on by default all week, a pumpkin-and-bats look, and a Fright Friday plan you can run in 30 minutes — all workplace-friendly.

What’s happening

From Monday 26 October to Saturday 31 October, Fun Friday goes a little spooky. Every room gets a pumpkin-and-purple look, the results podium gets a flurry of bats, and some team favourites gain a Halloween pack you can pick in game setup. The headline is Fright Friday on Friday 30 October: the natural slot for your team’s Halloween session.

It all switches on by itself at midnight UK time on Monday 26 October and off again at midnight as Sunday 1 November begins. Nothing to install, and nothing for your IT team to approve.

The Halloween packs

  • Trivia Blitz: over 150 questions on spooky films and TV, the books behind the monsters, folklore, Halloween traditions around the world, bats, spiders and moons. Easy, medium and hard, mixed together, so a team can play all week without meeting the same question twice.
  • Emoji Story: spooky film and book titles and Halloween phrases to tell in emoji — a hundred of them. Expect a lot of 🧛 and 🎃.
  • Hot Takes: a hundred playful Halloween opinions to split the room. Is it better than Christmas? Should everyone dress up for work?
  • Imposter: eight new word lists (monsters, costumes, haunted places, treats, creepy critters, a witch’s kit, autumn things and party things) for finding who doesn’t know the secret word.
  • Zoomed In: a set of Halloween pictures, from carved pumpkins and candy corn to bats, owls and a full moon, revealed one zoom at a time.

Everything is written for work: spooky, not gory. No gore, no jump-scare imagery and nothing you would hesitate to share on a team call.

How to play with the Halloween packs

  1. Open a room from Start a Session. During Halloween Week the games with a Halloween pack are grouped at the top under Halloween Week.
  2. That’s it: the Halloween content is on by default all week for every game that has it. Players see it in the lobby.
  3. Prefer the usual content? Open Game settings in the lobby and untick 🎃 Use Halloween content.

A game started during Halloween Week finishes on the Halloween pack even if it runs past midnight. Your team’s own custom packs still work as normal: choosing one switches the Halloween content off for that game.

A 30-minute Fright Friday plan

  1. Warm-up, 5 minutes. Hot Takes with the Halloween pack. Low stakes, gets everyone talking, and settles the Halloween-versus-Christmas debate once and for all.
  2. Main event, 15 minutes. Trivia Blitz, Halloween pack, ten questions. The podium at the end is where the bats come out.
  3. Finale, 10 minutes. A round of Imposter on haunted places, or Emoji Story if your team likes to draw things out.

Costumes optional. If people want to dress up, a hat or a background is plenty, and nobody should feel they have to.

Keep it inclusive

  • Not everyone celebrates Halloween, and some people do not enjoy scary themes. Keep the session opt-in and the tone playful.
  • The standard packs are still there. If part of the team would rather skip the theme, pick Standard for the next game.
  • The seasonal look respects reduced-motion settings: anyone who has asked their device to reduce motion will not see the bats.

Accounts, access and equipment

During beta, accounts receive Pro access free: up to 30 players and unlimited sessions. No payment card is required. Guest hosts use the Free game list, up to 8 players and 2 sessions per week on this browser.

Participants join with a room code and display name; no account or download is required. Hosts can use Free games without an account. Other games require a host account and the relevant access.

Each person needs a browser and an internet connection. Laptop, tablet and phone browsers work; a larger screen makes pictures and answer lists easier to read. Keep your usual call open for discussion. Screen sharing is optional and does not replace joining on your own device.
