Before you host
Hosting Zoomed In requires a free host account during beta, with room for up to 30 players including the host. No payment card is required.
Participants join with a room code and display name; they need no account or download. The room limit includes the host.
Play in a current browser on a laptop, tablet or phone. A larger screen helps with images and matching. Use your usual video or voice call to talk; Fun Friday does not include a call. Everyone plays on their own device. Screen sharing is optional; keep private answers and roles off a shared screen.
The hosting button opens setup with Zoomed In selected. Enter a display name or sign in if needed, then choose Create room. Invite colleagues with the link or code, check the settings and press Start when the group is ready. Opening setup creates no room.

An image starts extremely close up and pulls back over the round. The earlier you identify it, the more it is worth — so every second you wait for certainty costs you points.
Use it as a short energiser in a Teams, Zoom or Google Meet call. The host creates a room and shares the code in chat; everyone opens the game in their own browser to submit guesses. Screen sharing is optional and does not replace joining the room.

Example subjects
A photo opens far too close to identify and pulls back across the round. The earlier you call it, the more it is worth:
- A ginger cat — orange fur becomes easier to recognise as the image pulls back
- A golden retriever wearing sunglasses
- A penguin on an ice floe — the ice gives it away well before the bird does
- A llama looking over a fence
- An owl in a tree
When to run Zoomed In
A five-minute energiser
Set aside five to ten minutes, including joining and the final reveal. Pick the round count in the lobby and explain the one rule: submit the name of the subject as soon as you recognise it.
A big call where someone is already sharing a screen
It is the most watchable game in the catalogue — the whole room reacting to the same slowly-resolving image is the point, so it works as a shared-screen moment as well as on individual devices.
A room that will not stop guessing
Wrong guesses cost nothing but time, so the chat fills with increasingly desperate theories until somebody realises the mysterious orange landscape is a cat.

What happens if you guess wrong?
You can keep guessing as the image zooms out — but the value of the round drops the longer it takes, so an early wrong guess costs you the premium.

Yes. Zoomed In runs in the browser, separately from your call: start your Zoom, Teams or Google Meet meeting as usual, share the room code in the chat, and everyone plays on their own screen. Nothing needs installing or connecting to the call.
