What is Trivia Blitz?

Trivia Blitz is the fastest way to get a distributed team talking. Questions auto-advance on a timer, so nobody waits on the slowest answer and the round never sags — and because correct answers earn a speed bonus, the scoreboard keeps reshuffling right to the end.

It is the safest first session for a team that has never played together. No one needs to be funny, creative or willing to perform: they just need to know things, and everyone knows something.

How to play Trivia Blitz online

  1. 1

The host creates a session and shares the 6-character room code.

  2. 2

Players join from any browser with just a display name.

  3. 3

Each question appears for everyone at once with a countdown timer.

  4. 4

Answer fast — correct answers score, and answering quickly scores more.

  5. 5

The live leaderboard updates after every question and crowns a winner at the end.

Example questions

Questions are drawn from a bank spanning general knowledge, science, history, geography, film and music, at three difficulty levels. A typical opening round looks like this:

  • Which planet is closest to the Sun? — Mercury
  • What is the largest ocean on Earth? — Pacific
  • How many days are there in a leap year? — 366
  • What colour do you get when you mix red and white? — Pink
  • How many continents are there on Earth? — Seven

When to run Trivia Blitz

The first session your team ever plays

Nobody has to perform, improvise or be funny — they just have to know things, and everyone knows something. The speed bonus keeps the scoreboard moving to the last question, so nobody mentally checks out at question four.

A fixed ten-minute slot at the end of an all-hands

Questions auto-advance on a timer, so the round ends when the clock says it does rather than when the slowest player is ready. It is the one game here you can safely put in an agenda with a hard stop after it.

A team spread across seniority levels

General knowledge is the great leveller. The newest graduate beats the head of engineering about as often as not, and the whole room watches it happen on the leaderboard.
